ALYCE WATSONPhysiotherapist

Alyce graduated from the University of Queensland in 2010. Since graduating, Alyce has worked predominately in a private practice setting, treating a broad range of acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries and post-operative rehabilitation. She has a special interest in sports injuries, cervicogenic headache, TMJ disorders and exercise rehabilitation. She has taught both reformer and mat work pilates for several years. She also has qualifications to perform dry needling.

Alyce has a strong emphasis on hands-on treatment. She loves to empower her patients to learn how to self manage their pain or injury.

Alyce is a Mum of two beautiful children and she loves to spend time with her family. She is a keen reader when time permits and enjoys doing weights at the gym.

• Joint replacement and reconstructions
• Lower back pain and sciatica

Shalaka has over 20 years experience in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and sports injuries. She works in our clinic on Wednesdays and Fridays for any patients needing a female physiotherapist or assistance with Women’s Health Issues.
Shalaka has completed the full course on Women’s Health in July 2016

Shalaka has special interest in the treatment of;
• Neck pain with Cervicogenic headaches
• Sporting injuries
• Vestibular rehab (BPPV)
• Back, shoulder and knee pains.

LEIGH MAURERPhysiotherapist
B.Phty, APAM

Leigh went to boarding school in Perth at St Mary’s, Studied at Curtain University, was volunteer for church for 18 months in USA providing historical tours.

Leigh is looking forward to working with Physiocare and treating Musculoskeletal and Sports Injury patients and a variety of all injuries to gain valuable experience.

She is looking forward to working alongside with all of the Doctor’s and Allied Health Practitioners.

HELENA ZHANGPhysiotherapist


Helena recently graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) from the University of Queensland and received Dean’s Commendation for Academic Excellence on various occasions.

Helena has a keen interest in musculoskeletal injuries and neurological rehabilitation. During her studies, Helena completed an honours research project looking at professional dancer’s perception of attending to postures and movement and its clinical implications.

In addition, she is currently tutoring anatomy courses to undergraduates at the University of Queensland.

Outside of work, Helena started playing the piano from a very young age and has competed in multiple competitions worldwide. She also enjoys oil painting, working out and cooking.

Ashutosh Wahegaonkar (Ashu) has over 20 years of clinical experience. He has completed his Master of Physiotherapy from University of Queensland; Diploma in Orthopaedic Medicine & Acupuncture (Western Approach) from UK.

Ashu specializes in the treatment of;
• Headaches, whiplash, neck pain,
• Low back pain with sciatica,
• Ashu has special interest in treating Vertigo/BPPV patients & can perform Epley Manoeuvre.
• Men’s health.

HASEEB IFTIKHARPhysiotherapist

Haseeb Iftikhar is a recently graduated Physiotherapist and was previously working in an aged care role. He has also spent a short time working rurally in a hospital setting.

During his studies, Haseeb was employed as a physiotherapy aide at a Sports Clinic for almost 3 years. Having a passion for people and an interest in providing Physiotherapy Care, Haseeb focuses primarily on tailoring his care to suit the individual.

Haseeb believes in a hands-on approach combined with education and exercise. Haseeb has special interest in:
– Preventative care and management of chronic pain, degenerative diseases and disability.
– Retraining and rehabilitation of orthopaedic conditions and musculoskeletal issues.
– Providing strategies to improve quality of life for those with persistent conditions such as COPD.

On graduating, the first thing that Haseeb did was enrol into a post-graduate diploma in science. Previously, Haseeb was also enrolled in an undergraduate diploma of art – completing a Philosophy course.

Haseeb is undertaking studies on a part-time basis, currently studying physics and chemistry. He also enjoys spending time with his family, friends and on occasion, out and about. Haseeb also used to be very much into weight lifting and at the age of 19, dead lifted 125 kg for 3 repetitions.



Exercise Physiologist

Lucas has recently graduated from QUT Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology. During his studies Lucas gained a particular interest in treating and helping people with musculoskeletal conditions as well as educating around chronic pain.

Lucas is also looking after all our Hydrotherapy and Gym rehab patients. 

In his spare time, Lucas has always been interested in sports with a strong background in AFL (playing for 16 years). In the off season he has found a new passion in bouldering and ninja warrior which he wishes to continue exploring.

He is available in our Browns Plains practice Monday’s, Tuesday’s and Thursday’s 9am- 5pm and Wednesday afternoons from 2.30pm- 5pm.



Vicky Chan


Vicky is trained in Traditional Chinese Acupuncture, Japanese Tei Acupuncture and Taiwanese Tung’s Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine. Bachelor of Health Science (Acupuncture), Diploma of Health Science (Acupuncture) and Diploma of Remedial Therapy

Focused on a holistic approach to each client’s presentation, during a treatment session, various techniques of those styles are/might be combined and at times incorporated with remedial therapy to achieve the best outcome. Vicky is unique in her skill of needling and diagnosis.

Vicky has had many years experience working closely with GP, Physiotherapist and Psychologist specializes in support of:

JESSICA LANGPractice Manager
Jessica Lang has plenty of experience in Physiotherapy administration work including dealings with WorkCover, Medicare, DVA and Insurance correspondence. She has been working with PhysioCare since 2011.

Jess works at both Browns Plains and Forest Lake practices. For any queries regarding appointments or any other general inquires do not hesitate to contact Jess at the clinic.

PHOEBE RIXONReceptionist

Phoebe Rixon is our Receptionist/Digital marketing manager.

In her free time Phoebe enjoys working out and taking her dog to the beach. She enjoys reading about philosophy and psychology. Phoebe plans to continue her studies in Psychology while working.
