Douglas Jones – Physiotherapist
My professional experience as a physiotherapist has been diverse, including employment at public health service hospitals in Queensland and the U.K., as well as private practice in both rural and metropolitan settings.
I have worked in elite performance environments such as Defence Force bases and elite sport settings such as Fulham Football Club Academy in London. Whilst my work experience has been predominately within the area of musculoskeletal outpatients clinics/private practice clinics, I also have significant skills in Respiratory physiotherapy, Women’s Health, Geriatric, Rehabilitation, Orthopaedic, Community physiotherapy, Occupational Health & Safety and Hydrotherapy.
I have previously owned and operated an award-winning, allied health multi-disciplinary private practice in Emerald, Queensland which provided Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Dietetics & Nutrition, Podiatry
and Occupational Therapy services across the Central Highlands and Bowen Basin regions, with corporate clients including BHP Billiton, Xstrata, & Rio Tinto.
This experience has given me a deep understanding of how patient outcomes can be significantly improved with appropriate integration of Physiotherapy services with other allied health disciplines.
In addition, I have previously operated my own physiotherapy/massage therapy private practice in Corinda, Brisbane. I have gained experience in providing physiotherapy services to frail and elderly residents of Aged Care Facilities across Brisbane. This experience has given me great insight into the importance of providing quality care for vulnerable people that may suffer from a variety of conditions (including dementia).
Furthermore, my experience of working in the aged care field has allowed me to draw upon my technical skills, professional skills and life experience to deliver meaningful clinical outcomes with kindness and dignity for the residents.
Most recently, I have worked in the Rehabilitation & Return to Work sector, assisting injured workers to return to gainful employment, as well as providing onsite physiotherapy services to corporate clients.
My goal in joining the PhysioCare team is to further diversify my skills and expertise, whilst continuing to deliver high quality physiotherapy services. I believe I have a lot to offer any prospective clients of PhysioCare and will provide outstanding physiotherapy services that benefit them in their stage of life and assist in reaching their individual goals.
Outside of work my interests include:

Faith – I am interested in listening, learning and reflecting on the word and applying it to my life.
Languages – I love learning languages to surprise and connect with people from all corners of the world!
Soccer – I adore all forms and shapes of the beautiful game!
Music – I love listening and learning to play music, and I have an eclectic taste (currently into Brazilian reggae)
